Acom - Advanced Communications System
The Acom Advanced Communications System is a fully-digital switching and multiplexing system that represents the state-of-the-art in integrated communication console technology for mission-critical applications. Acom’s end-to-end digital architecture integrates voice (radio and telephone), data, paging, and video communications to provide unmatched flexibility and ease-of-use.
PUBLIC SAFETY For Police, Fire, Ambulance, Disaster Management Centers, and other public safety agencies, interoperability has become the watchword. This requires command and control equipment capable of communicating with multiple agencies operating region-wide and sometimes country-wide systems. The Acom Advanced Communications System allows inter-agency communications across a wide spectrum of radio bands and dissimilar communications interfaces such as P25, OpenSky®, iDEN®, TETRA, EDACS®, SMARTNET®, SmartZone®, MPT 1327, LTR®, etc.
TRANSPORTATION Airlines, Railways, Maritime and other Mass Transportation entities often have multiple control centers scattered across large geographical distances. Acom’s distributed network architecture allows seamless operation and resource sharing of voice, video, and data between control centers separated by hundreds, sometimes thousands of miles.
UTILITIES Electrical, Water, Oil, Gas, and other types of utilities depend on privately owned and controlled communication systems for efficient operations. For economic reasons, these systems are often made up of new technologies which must work with legacy equipment. The Acom system has the flexibility to handle both established and emerging communications technologies such as VoIP, LAN/WAN, and is scalable from small, two-person dispatch facilities to operations centers with hundreds of operator positions.
